Become an Active Teacher

You are your baby’s first and most important teacher. Fostering brain development does not require fancy toys or lesson plans. Your minute by minute interaction with your child offers incredible opportunities to stimulate her brain.

Brain Development and Language

One of the simplest ways is through language. Because language is fundamental to brain development, just having a regular conversation with your baby is a great stimulant. If you speak a foreign language, use it around your child. Be sure to make your voice expressive and exciting. Diaper changes, driving in the car, and playtime can all offer a great opportunity for learning through conversation.

Singing and Baby Brain Development

Singing is also a fun way to engage and entertain your baby. Tell a story through a song. Explain how you are folding laundry and make up a silly singsong about it while she watches and listens.

Shapes and Colors to Stimulate Baby Brains

Though your baby probably enjoys gazing at your face, you can also provide colorful objects of different shapes, sizes and textures. High contrast patterns and bold shapes are especially stimulating for babies.

Simple Brain Exercises

Spend time playing on the floor with your infant. As she grows, encourage her to reach for the toys.

Begin Reading at an Early Age

Read to your child every day. Let the baby touch the pages, and help turn them if she can. Board books are great for babies, as are slobber proof vinyl books.

Respond to Your Baby’s Emotions

Be attentive to your child. Respond when she seems upset, happy, and confused. Encourage her to talk back to you however she can.

Sleep and Brain Development

Help your baby get sleep for extended periods of time. Their growing brains need downtime, especially at night.

Parents really are every baby’s most important teacher so do not forget to take care of yourself by eating right, exercising and getting some extra rest when you can

Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik, and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.

Wahai Tuhan kami!
